Community Involvement

Garry currently serves on the board of College of Western Idaho Technical Advisory Committee to help the faculty there to ensure students are prepared and educated to meet and exceed current industry levels.

Garry has served as Chairman of the NAPA AutoCare Boise Business Development Group for the last 7 years. This group was formed to encourage valley shop owners to join arms in raising the level of service in our industry and encouraging community involvement on educational and charitable events.

Another achievement we are proud of is being able to give back to our community. It’s certainly a great feeling to be able to say “yes” to worthwhile organizations and people. While our philosophy is to support the causes that are important to our customers, (requests for auction items, fund raisers of various sorts, etc.) the main focus of our community support is to the Boise Rescue Mission who is “Dedicated to helping people in need and giving individuals the opportunity to come out of the storm of life, utilize the tools that the Mission provides, and get back on their feet again.” We believe what they do is vital in our community and it is our pleasure to partner with them in the work they do. We perform work on the Boise Rescue Mission Fleet of Vehicles and provide financial support to this vital organization.

In addition to this support we also partner with our NAPA AutoCare Business Development Group on “Wheels of Hope” projects. These are typically large auto repair/restoration undertakings. We have also participated with “Wish Granters” to restore a classic car for a gentleman suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.

Each year we offer free oil changes to veterans and active duty service members and their families on Veteran’s Day. This is a huge event that draws many people each year. We serve our veterans and their families a meal while they wait on their oil services to be done. Our team members volunteer their time to do this and really enjoy it.
